Chargers Rookie One Step Closer to Being Draft Bust With Latest Injury News
The Los Angeles Chargers are 5-3 as they head into Week 10. They have won two games in a row, including a 27-10 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 9.
The team is focused on extending their win streak and has an AFC contest against the Tennessee Titans in Week 10.
While that is the focal point, the team is still making moves to the roster. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Los Angeles placed LB Junior Colson and WR Simi Fehoko on injured reserve.
Chargers News: Junior Colson Lands on IR
This season has been really rough for Colson. The Michigan product was selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has struggled as a rookie, despite heading into the year with high hopes.
During training camp, Colson missed some time after he underwent an appendectomy. He entered the regular season ready to play but suffered a hamstring injury that caused him to miss Weeks 3 and 4.
Colson returned on Oct. 13 against the Denver Broncos but is dealing with an ankle injury that will sideline him for at least the next four games.
Even when the 21-year-old was on the field, he wasn't effective. Colson has a 39.2 overall grade per PFF, which ranks 148th among 157 eligible linebackers.
In 2024, he has just 14 total tackles and one pass deflections in 115 total snaps. His rookie season has been a combination of multiple injuries and shaky play. And the arrow continues to trend downward after this latest update.
