The Los Angeles Chargers had a strong 2024 campaign. It was a new era under Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz. They wasted no time flipping things around, going 11-6 on the year.

Securing a playoff spot is a great first step and gives the Chargers something to build off of. Los Angeles still has work to do this offseason to improve the team. The 2025 NFL Draft is one place where Los Angeles will get a chance to add more talent.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft on Saturday. In that mock, he had the Chargers selecting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with the 22nd-overall pick.

The Chargers' passing attack needs more weapons and Harbaugh tapped into the Michigan well with this selection.

Loveland played with the Wolverines from 2022-2024. The first two seasons came with Harbaugh at the helm so these two guys have a great connection. The 61-year-old recruited him to Ann Arbor and the two reconnected in this mock.

Loveland is an athletic pass-catcher who stands at 6-foot-5. He has great hands and has good speed after the catch. He uses his frame to his advantage when attacking the seams and bringing down contested catches.

Over 39 collegiate games, Loveland secured 117 receptions for 1,466 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and 12.5 yards per reception.

The Washington native is a player who would be more productive in the pros than he did in college. He has all the tools that teams look for in a pass-catching tight end but played in a run-heavy scheme. His connection with Harbaugh can't go under the radar and is something to keep an eye on.

The Chargers need to add more playmakers alongside Ladd McConkey and Loveland could be an option for them come April.
