The last time veteran NBA guard Kendrick Nunn played in the NBA was in the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards.
Nunn signed a two-year, $10.25 million contract with the Lakers in Aug. 2021 after a solid two-year stint with the Miami Heat. The former Heat guard did not play his first year in LA because of a bone bruise in his knee.
However, Nunn returned for the 2022-23 regular season and played sparingly for the Lakers. The 6-foot-2 combo guard averaged 6.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 13.5 minutes per game. He also shot 40.6 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from three-point range.
Nunn didn’t stay with the Lakers past the trade deadline during that season as he was included in the Rui Hachimura deal, sending him to Washington. With the Wizards, he scored 7.5 points per game on 44.7 percent shooting from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point range.
Since then, Nunn has spent the last two years playing overseas in Greece with Panathinaikos. The former Lakers guard has made a name for himself in EuroLeague competition, averaging 15.4 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game last season.
This season, Nunn has continued to play well in the EuroLeague, scoring 20.1 points per game on 48.2 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from deep, which has gotten him back on the NBA's radar.
According to Sportando, several NBA scouts have converged in Italy to watch Nunn as his team will take on Olimpia Milano in round 24 of the EuroLeague. Sportando adds that the former NBA guard is finding interest overseas after landing in Europe.
The former Lakers guard has carved himself a nice career out in Greece, competing on the biggest stage in the EuroLeague. Based on his production with Panathinaikos, Nunn is playing and looking like the guy we saw in Miami.
That said, it will be interesting to see if the NBA interest continues to grow for Nunn, and if any teams will reach out. With his scoring and shooting ability, multiple contenders in the Association could use Nunn off the bench.
