The Los Angeles Rams have been preparing all week for their Wild Card matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately due to the ongoing wildfires that are happening in California, this matchup has been moved to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

There are just 14 teams left in the postseason, competing for a chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Meanwhile, the other 18 teams in the league are looking ahead towards the offseason and the 2025 season.

Coaches around the NFL are getting fired and that happened on Saturday to a former Rams coach.

NFL News: Jimmy Lake Gets Fired by Atlanta Falcons

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons fired defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake after just one season.

Lake was with the Rams in 2023 as the assistant head coach. He decided to head to Atlanta with Raheem Morris, who was their defensive coordinator from 2021-2023.

The Falcons did have trouble containing teams this season, In 2024, the Falcons were 23rd in the league in total defense (345.2) and scoring defense (24.9) but 22nd in pass defense (224.5). Over the last eight weeks of the season, the Falcons gave up at least 30 points in four games.

While it wasn't all the defense's fault, their lack of production played into why the Falcons narrowly missed the postseason.

The 48-year-old has coaching experience in college and pro football dating back to 1999. He'll land on his feet again but unfortunately, things didn't work out in his favor with the Falcons.

You never know if a return to Los Angeles is in the cards. That could be a topic of discussion in the offseason but right now, the sole focus for the Rams is beating the Vikings.
