Former Rams Stud Offering Help to Those Affected by Wildfires
By Jovan Alford
The Los Angeles area has been ravaged by ongoing wildfires that have destroyed property and affected thousands of people across the Southern Carolina region.
The wildfires have also affected several sports teams in the city as the Lakers (NBA), Clippers (NBA), and Kings (NHL) have had their games postponed this week. The Rams had their playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night moved from So-Fi Stadium to the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
While the teams and leagues figure out a way to help the people in Los Angeles, a former Rams player is doing his part to help out the community. Former Rams quarterback Jared Goff and his wife posted a message on Instagram looking to help the victims of the wildfires.
In the social media message posted by the Goffs, they asked people affected by the wildfires across the So. Cal region to send their Amazon wishlists to them. They will create a master list of all the wishlists so they can work together to get people what they need
This is an outstanding gesture by Goff and his wife as he spent the first five years of his career with the Rams. Los Angeles drafted the veteran quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Goff is also a California native, as he’s from Novato – 401 miles from Los Angeles. The veteran QB had a couple of good seasons with the Rams, which saw him go to the Pro Bowl twice and the Super Bowl.
The Rams traded the former No. 1 overall pick in 2021 to the Detroit Lions for veteran QB Matt Stafford, forever linking the two QBs to each other. Let’s hope that people see the Goffs’ post on Instagram and help out those in Los Angeles, who will try to rebuild their lives.
