The Los Angeles Lakers are 6-4 on the season but have found a way to put along a winning streak after hitting a wall, dropping two games in a row. Head coach JJ Redick has brought a different approach and mindset to the sideline.

LeBron James is still playing at a high level, and Anthony Davis is putting up MVP-caliber numbers. Although Davis is dominating, there is a lot of pressure due to the lack of depth behind him.

Los Angeles only has Davis and Jaxson Hayes playing heavy minutes in the frontcourt. With this being a clear need, the Lakers got bad news on Christian Wood.

Lakers News: Christian Wood Suffered a Setback in Rehab

Redick spoke with team reporters on Tuesday and revealed that Wood started feeling some soreness in his left knee while in his return-to-play progression stage.

Now, the Lakers want to take a step back and will reevaluate Wood in four weeks. The UNLV product underwent knee surgery at the beginning of training camp and was given an initial eight-week timeframe. It will extend to 12 weeks after the latest update, which is a massive blow to the Lakers.

They could use Wood's shooting, length, and presence in the frontcourt but will have to wait as he's not healthy. He and Jared Vanderbilt have both been sidelined with injuries, significantly limiting their depth in the frontcourt.

Neither player is ready to contribute but is taking up a roster spot on this team. This update is not ideal and continues to put more on the plate of Davis and James.
