The Los Angeles Chargers are entering the 2024 offseason in a much better place than they were last year. GM Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaugh did an excellent job building out the roster and improving the cap situation. Now, the Bolts are heading into free agency with $66 million in cap space, the sixth-most in the league.
This number will obviously go down with cuts, contract restructures, and extensions. However, regardless of what else the Chargers decide to do with their cap space, they should have plenty of resources to bring back a franchise icon.
Keenan Allen, who is hitting free agency after his lone season in Chicago, is a potential Chargers target this offseason. In fact, the 32-year-old receiver isn't hiding his desire to return to Los Angeles.

Keenan Allen Continues to Make His Case for Chargers Reunion
Allen has recently shared multiple stories on his Instagram, showing clips from his Chargers days. In the videos, Allen is running routes in Chargers practice.
From a player who spent last year in Chicago, this is obviously surprising. At the same time, Allen previously said that he would love to continue his career in Los Angeles.
After spending the first 11 years of his career with the Chargers, Allen was traded to the Bears last offseason. He had a down season as Caleb Williams struggled as a rookie in a dysfunctional offense. He was still healthy and put up 70 catches for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.
With DJ Moore and Rome Odunze ahead of him in the pecking order, Allen is not the cleanest fit in Chicago. For the WR-needy Chargers, however, he is an excellent option. The familiarity with the organization could help Allen get back to his Pro Bowl days with the Chargers.
