The Los Angeles Lakers have hit a wall recently, dropping four of their last five games. They now sit with an 11-8 record but have been hit with injuries, especially in the frontcourt.

Jarred Vanderbilt has yet to play this season, as he's still rehabbing his way back from surgery on both of his feet, although he hasn't suffered any setbacks. Christian Wood also hasn't stepped foot on the court this season. He underwent his second knee surgery of the year in earlier October and hasn't made his 2024-25 debut.

The Lakers continued to lose bodies in the frontcourt, and the latest injury update on center Jaxson Hayes isn't good news.

Lakers News: Jaxson Hayes is Going to Miss Multiple Weeks

According to ESPN's Shams Charania and Dave McMenamin, Hayes is slated to miss two to three weeks after he re-sprain his right ankle.

He sprained his ankle originally earlier in November during a practice, and that caused him to miss six consecutive games. Hayes then returned to action on Nov. 26 against the Phoenix Suns but re-injured the same ankle in the final of the game on a dunk.

That is a blow for the Texas product and frontcourt that's already thin. In 2024, Hayes is averaging 6.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shoots 72% from the field in 17.5 minutes per game.

Los Angeles will now be focused on relying more on Anthony Davis and Christian Koloko to fill in the void. They may also be forced to trot out smaller lineups with LeBron James and Rui Hachimura playing more minutes at power forward and even center at times.

This isn't ideal for Los Angeles, but they'll have to weather the storm until they get reinforcements.
