The Los Angeles Lakers have endured a fascinating offseason now that the franchise is all-in on the Luka Doncic era. The organization desperately wants to give LeBron James at least one more chance to win a championship in his illustrious career. and the Lakers have made some moves to make that possible.

This roster obviously has some holes, as it's overly dependent on the talents (and health) of Doncic and James to carry it to the finals. That could put a large amount of strain on their respective bodies, and we've seen numerous examples of them both getting hurt in recent years while shouldering a hefty load.

Los Angeles nearly saw disaster strike on Saturday, when Doncic suffered an apparent injury during a Slovenian game. Fortunately, it sounds like the superstar avoided anything overly serious with the regular season fast approaching.

Lakers' Luka Doncic Avoids Serious Injury Scare in Slovenian Game

As reported by Dan Woike of The Athletic, Doncic walked to the locker room on his own power but was favoring his right leg after a teammate was pushed into him. Sources told Woike that Doncic avoided any serious injury, but it'll be an important storyline to watch in case there's anything hanging around.

Doncic has missed time in every season of his professional career, playing in more than 66 contests just once in the last six years. Some of that was due to load management, and his offseason commitment to his body may help matters, yet it's still hard to avoid the "injury-prone" label should these ailments keep popping up.

When he's on the court, Doncic is obviously one of the greatest players on the planet, having already proven capable of single-handedly carrying a team to the NBA Finals. Los Angeles is asking a lot of him, however, and it's easy to look as this as a harbringer of what's to come with the heavy usage rate Doncic will undoubtedly endure.

For now, Lakers fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Regardless, this is a concerning thing to happen before the season even starts. It's obviously great that Doncic is seemingly okay, but hopefully this isn't a forecast of any more issues when the games actually matter.
