Lakers Schedule Change Adds Two New Opponents
The Los Angeles Lakers have played some bad basketball lately. They have lost five of their last seven games and were eliminated from the Emirates NBA Cup following a 101-93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 29.
The Lakers were 2-2 in the NBA Cup and had a -24 point differential in West Group B. With the quarterfinals for the in-season tournament set in stone, the NBA PR revealed the league made some changes to the schedule.
Lakers News: NBA Added Two Games to Lakers Schedule
There were 22 teams that didn't qualify for the quarterfinals and were given two more games to their schedule. On Dec. 13, the Lakers will travel to play the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Western Conference battle. Meanwhile, on Dec. 15, Los Angeles will host the Memphis Grizzlies.
This is a different feeling for Los Angeles this season, as they won the inaugural NBA Cup in 2023. The Lakers topped the Indiana Pacers 123-109 to win the first-ever NBA Cup.
But with that not being in the cards this season, they continue with their regular season slate of games. This team needs to find some momentum and get back to playing good basketball.
Los Angeles and the Timberwolves matched up twice this season, going 1-1 in those matchups. It's the same case for the Lakers versus the Grizzlies. They've gone 1-1 in two regular-season contests thus far.
The Lakers have looked like two different teams this season but are looking to get back to their winning ways.
