In the 2024 offseason, LeBron James famously lost his podcast partner JJ Redick, who became the Los Angeles Lakers head coach. The duo has had a fruitful partnership on the court this season, resulting in the Lakers vying for home-court advantage in the playoffs for the first time since their title-winning 2020 season. The Mind the Game podcast, however, has been idle since then.
Now, it is making a comeback. Starting April 1, new episodes of Mind the Game podcast will be on YouTube, Amazon Prime, and "everywhere you listen to podcasts," per the official announcement on their social media account. Most importantly, LeBron has a new partner, and it is a former Laker.

LeBron James Recruits Former Laker to Replace JJ Redick in Podcast Relaunch
James will be joined by two-time MVP and former Laker Steve Nash. The 51-year-old Canadian basketball legend was most recently the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets until his firing in November 2022. According to the latest reports, LeBron and Redick made the decision together to approach Nash for the continuation of the podcast.
In the teaser video released on social media, James says, "If he gets a head coaching job, we didn't talk about this beforehand," referring to the allegations that he got Redick hired as the Lakers head coach.
Mind the Game podcast dives deep into the X's and O's of basketball, discussing sets, plays, and all the tactical and technical elements of the NBA. Steve Nash, considered one of the greatest point guards and basketball minds to ever play the game, will certainly be an excellent partner to James.
The two MVPs' paths never crossed in the NBA, but they are now on the verge of a potentially long and fruitful partnership off the court.
