G.O.A.T or no G.O.A.T, LeBron James has had a career that many have never seen before in the history of the National Basketball Association. A 20-time All-Star, four NBA Championships, four Most Valuable Player awards, four Olympic medals, and on and on.

LeBron has also been the face of the NBA for over a decade. He’s seen himself as Cleveland’s villain, then hero, part of maybe the best three players on the same team during an NBA season in the Miami Heat, and he brought back a championship to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

Today, Dec. 30, he celebrates another milestone not many NBA players get to: playing while being in their 40s.

James has made a profound impact on the city of Los Angeles since joining the Lakers in 2018, both on and off the court. On the court, he led the Lakers to their 17th NBA championship in 2020, tying the Boston Celtics for the most titles in league history at the time.

This victory, achieved during the NBA bubble amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, ended the Lakers' decade-long championship drought and restored their status as one of the league’s premier franchises. LeBron was named Finals MVP, becoming the first player in NBA history to earn the honor with three different teams.

In addition to his team success, LeBron has provided countless unforgettable moments, including breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record while wearing a Lakers jersey, further solidifying his legacy in the sport.

Off the court, LeBron’s contributions to Los Angeles extend beyond basketball. Through the LeBron James Family Foundation, he has supported educational and community initiatives, showcasing his commitment to philanthropy. As a vocal advocate for social justice, he has inspired local communities to push for equality and change.

LeBron’s presence has also boosted the city’s economy, drawing increased attention to Lakers games and driving tourism and local business revenue. Moreover, his ventures in Hollywood, including the SpringHill Company, have strengthened Los Angeles' reputation as a global hub for sports and entertainment.

LeBron’s tenure with the Lakers has not only brought success to the team but also left an indelible mark on the city’s culture and community.

LeBron’s history is already something for the record books. He will be alongside Michael Jordan no matter if he’s considered the best in the game or not. He’s on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore. James is now playing with his own son in the NBA, another first. Legacy is not in question as LeBron James continues to fight Father Time tooth and nail. He will be always among the best players to ever live that have played the game of basketball.
