With the NBA Finals officially over, the offseason is going to kick into overdrive. The NBA draft takes place on Wednesday night before free agency starts on July 30th at 3 p.m. CT.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a few holes on the roster that need to be filled. Before they make some additions to the team, a report emerged regarding Luka Doncic, and it will make some Laker fans thrilled.

According to The Athletic's Dan Woike, Doncic has dropped a significant amount of weight this offseason and is committed to a strict diet.

Luka Doncic Has Dropped Weight This Offseason

Woike wrote, "In a shift from his normal offseason, he spent a month away from on-court work to focus more on his body. Dončić has looked visibly slimmer in photos and is now back working out with Slovenia readying for EuroBasket competition later this summer."

Doncic's weight was reportedly a big concern for the Dallas Mavericks and a reason why they wanted to ship him off.

The 26-year-old's weight has been something that has held him back. Although he's still a top-notch talent, being in better shape will always have a positive impact. It will allow him to potentially play more minutes and could help him avoid injury.

This is the kind of offseason fans were hoping Doncic would have, and he's taking it personally. In 28 regular-season games with the Lakers, he averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game. He shot 37.9% from downtown on 9.6 3-point attempts per game.

Doncic has compiled five All-Star nods and five All-NBA First Team selections already in his career. He has shown that he's one of the best players in the NBA, and with a laser-focused approach to improve his conditioning, the rest of the league should be on the lookout for an improved Doncic for the 2025-26 season.
