Los Angeles Lakers fans have seen several well-known players come and go over the years.
Given the way Los Angeles targets veterans to build rosters around the cornerstones in place, many veterans are happy to sign on in Los Angeles for less in hopes of contending for a title.
Saturday morning, former Lakers guard Patrick Beverley shared during an episode of the Pat Bev Podcast that he has been speaking with multiple general managers in the NBA about a potential comeback. Beverley then made his case to the Purple and Gold, and every other team in the league, to give him a chance to make a roster out of training camp.
"I miss it," Beverley said. "I done hit a couple GMs, a couple coaches. I said, just invite me to training camp. ... I'll do the rest. ... If you got a roster spot, let me fight for that roster spot. I don't need no favors. Just invite me to training camp. I'll do the rest."
Beverley elected to leave the NBA to sign with Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League during the summer of 2024. His time with the franchise was short as Beverley and Hapoel Tel Aviv parted ways on Feb. 13, 2025. Beverley's departure came shortly after he was suspended following a loss in the Israeli Championship, for which he was benched for the second half.
Despite his short stint in Israel, Beverley was effective as he averaged 10.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
