With starting quarterback Matthew Stafford staying in Los Angeles and left tackle Alaric Jackson getting a three-year extension, the Los Angeles Rams can now turn their attention to the future of star wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

Last month, Kupp posted on social media that the Rams would seek to trade him immediately.

Since then, there hasn’t been much on the trade front for Kupp as the Rams saw their NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers, trade Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders. With Samuel out of the division and the Bengals reportedly tagging Tee Higgins, Kupp is the next best available wide receiver this offseason.

One team who could be a potential trade partner for the Rams is the Dallas Cowboys. ESPN’s Dan Graziano wrote that the Cowboys will be in the market for a No. 2 wide receiver behind star CeeDee Lamb.

Graziano adds that Dallas could be a suitor for Kupp “if his price drops far enough.” As of right now, we don’t know what Kupp’s price is, but given that Samuel went for a fifth-round pick, Los Angeles could get a fourth or third-round pick in a potential trade.

The Cowboys traded a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Carolina Panthers for Jonathan Mingo, which did not work out in their favor this season. Therefore, Rams general manager Les Snead should wait for the best deal for the Rams.

However, Snead can’t be picky as Kupp is set to make $20 million and $19.85 million over the next two years, making things tough for the Cowboys and other contenders looking to add the veteran wide receiver.

The 31-year-old Kupp has struggled with injuries over the last few years after his stellar 2021 season where he won the triple-crown. This past season, the veteran receiver only played in 12 games after missing four due to injury.

Despite missing those games, Kupp still turned in 67 receptions (100 targets) for 710 yards and six touchdowns. Lastly, another thing to consider with a potential Kupp trade is will Los Angeles find a suitable replacement, especially with Stafford returning for 2025.

Stafford and Kupp have been one of the dynamic QB-WR duos in the league. And granted, the Rams will still have Puka Nacua, who is developing into a star. The Rams’ passing game could look completely different with Kupp playing alongside Nacua in 2025.
