10. Morgan Fox

Morgan Fox is another cut candidate on defense, only this time the salary cap ramifications are a big part of it.

Fox has racked up 12.0 sacks in his two years with the Chargers, which is pretty decent production for a situational pass-rusher. But that's the catch — it's just decent, and only in one area.

Pass-rush production is important, don't get me wrong, but finding guys who can give you 6 sacks a year is not exactly impossible — especially if you're not worried about their ability to stop the run. And Fox was one of the Chargers' worst run defenders in both 2022 and 2023.

Bringing in a one-dimensional pass-rusher is not going to be difficult, or expensive.

Fox carries a $4.75 million cap hit for 2024, and with just $1.25 million in dead money coming if they cut or trade him, it's a no-brainer for the Chargers to free up $3.5 million here.
