2. Gerald Everett

The veteran tight end is another one of the 19 Chargers’ unrestricted free agents who could play elsewhere next season.

Everett was one of the lone bright spots for a disappointing Los Angeles offense in 2023. The 29-year-old pass catcher had 51 receptions (70 targets) for 411 yards and three touchdowns.

Everett didn’t have gaudy numbers this season but was one of the more reliable pass catchers for quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Easton Stick. Everett had four or more catches in seven out of 15 games this season.

With the Chargers having the fifth overall pick in the NFL Draft, Everett might be the odd man out, as the team could take former Georgia Bulldogs standout Brock Bowers.

Bowers would be an instant upgrade over Everett and the perfect complement to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Everett likely isn’t one of the Chargers’ top priorities to re-sign in free agency this season. However, it would be a considerable loss, especially if Los Angeles can’t figure out their wide receiver unit.
