3 Dream Lakers Trade Targets at the Deadline

The Los Angeles Lakers need to make a splash at the trade deadline as they are falling in the Western Conference standings. Here are a few dream targets that they wish were on their radar.

3. Mikal Bridges

This trade target is way out of left field, but you cannot tell me that the Lakers wouldn’t want Bridges on the wing with James and Davis. Teams have reportedly inquired about acquiring the former Villanova standout from the Brooklyn Nets.

However, the Nets have rebuffed those trade offers as they have plans to at least build around the young wing for the foreseeable future.

Nonetheless, Bridges would be the perfect trade target for Los Angeles as he can defend the other team’s best player and create his own offense. We saw Bridges come into his own last season after being traded from the Phoenix Suns.

The 6-foot-6 small forward is averaging 21.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game this season. Bridges is also shooting 45.5% from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.

That being said, if the Lakers acquired Bridges, they would have to give up Austin Reaves, as I highly doubt Brooklyn would take D’Angelo Russell back. At the same time, losing Reaves in a potential deal would hurt Lakers fans, but the trade-off is a two-way player that could be an x-factor in a playoff series.
