2. John Johnson III, S

Safety John Johnson III returned to Los Angeles in 2023 after spending two years with the Cleveland Browns.

He stepped back in and was a smooth defender on the backend. Johnson III doesn't have great speed or anything but he owns a high IQ to get to his spots on the field. The Boston College product is a reliable tackler and gets his head around in coverage.

In 2023, Johnson III finished with 42 total tackles, six pass deflections, and two interceptions. He's also just two years removed from securing 100-plus tackles in a season.

Unfortunately for Johnson III, the free agent safety market has been slow-moving this year. The likes of Justin Simmons, Jamal Adams, Eddie Jackson, and Quandre Diggs are still on the market and are better players than Johnson III. It may be a while until the 28-year-old finds a new home.

3. Ahkello Witherspoon, CB

Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is coming off arguably the best year of his career. Witherspoon (6'2) has great size and speed that allows him to swiftly flip his hips in coverage.

The Colorado product can make plays when the ball is in the air and owns sound awareness. He finished with career-highs in total tackles (52), pass deflections (14), fumble recoveries (2), and interceptions (3).

According to PFF, Witherspoon finished with a 64.3 grade. Teams are always looking for corners so it's surprising that he's still available.

Per Spotrac, Witherspoon's market value is a two-year deal for $20.5 million. Maybe teams want him to lower his asking price but Witherspoon is too good of a player to sit on the market. He should have a new home over the next few weeks.

The Rams need to continue nailing their moves to improve their chances of winning the division. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Los Angeles has the second-best odds, at +450, to win the NFC West in 2024.
