3. Taurean Prince

Pelinka thought if he signed a bunch of role players to one and two-year deals the Lakers might have solid depth in case someone got hurt.

However, the Lakers’ bench didn’t live up to expectations and couldn’t give them that boost they desperately needed. Prince, a pending free agent, will likely be elsewhere after an okay regular season and playoff.

During the regular season, the 30-year-old forward averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 27 minutes per game. The Lakers called on Prince to start sometimes, as he started in 49 out of 78 games.

The former first-round pick also shot 44.2 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from beyond the arc, which isn’t too shabby. Prince saw his numbers slightly dip in the playoffs as he scored 7.4 points per game on 41.4 percent shooting from the field and 29.4 percent from beyond the arc.

With the Lakers bringing in a new head coach, that person will want to bring in new role players to help fill out the bench.
