Budda Baker, Cardinals Safety
Baker was once a great safety and has now made the Pro Bowl for five consecutive seasons, but this may be the beginning of the end for him.
Now 28-years-old, Baker had his worst season last year. It’s easy to write that off due to a poor Arizona defense around him, but it’s also hard to argue with the stats.
Make it make sense…

One is going to the Pro Bowl, One isn’t
Btw; AW has had a healthier season, thus played MORE than Baker, and is on a 1st place team vs AZ who sits in last divisionally 😑
Like, give me ONE point in favor of Budda lol… ONE!#GoBucs pic.twitter.com/I6vE3m750u
On the surface, it’s ugly. He played in 12 games last season and had ZERO interceptions, forced fumbles, or pass deflections.
He also allowed 15.5 yards per completion – by far the most in his career – and was hardly used as a blitzer.
If he isn’t stopping receivers OR pressuring the quarterback, it’s going to be hard to make the argument that he’s still a top defensive back in the NFC West much longer.
