3. Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

Continuing on the same note. Offense! Playmakers come in many different forms and Los Angeles needs to look at all avenues over the next few months. Gerald Everett was the starting tight end over the past two seasons but is a free agent in 2024.

Donald Parham and Stone Smartt are the only two tight ends on the roster heading into 2024. The selection of Georgia's Brock Bowers makes sense. I know some people are saying a tight end at No. 5 is way too high but Bowers is different.

Bowers has a combination of elite speed, strength, and playmaking ability. The California native has the versatility to line up all across the formation. During his time at Georgia, he played all over the field, including in-line, split out wide, and even in the backfield.

Additionally, the 21-year-old is an effective run blocker. He can catch screens to do damage after the catch while attacking the ball in the air downfield. Many NFL draft experts have compared Bowers to San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, which is high praise.

From 2021-2023, Bowers recorded 175 receptions for 2,538 receiving yards, and 26 receiving touchdowns.

He hasn't even scratched the surface of his true potential. In an NFL offense with an elite quarterback, Bowers' play will only improve. Furthermore, Greg Roman is the offensive coordinator for the Chargers. Roman loves to feature tight ends in his offensive playcalling.

During his tenure as offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens from 2019-2022, Mark Andrews emerged as one of the best tight ends in the NFL. In that timeframe, Andrews had 302 catches for 3,761 receiving yards, and 31 touchdowns.
