There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Angels’ 2024 season was an utter failure. You can blame injuries, coaching, ownership, or whatever. However, there were some bright spots this year that should help the team moving forward.

Not Calling Up Christian Moore

Christian Moore, besides his time on the injury list, has been nothing short of spectacular. In 101 at-bats, he batted .347 with an OPS of .984 which is insane. That puts him up there with the legendary Mike Trout in Angels’ minor league history.

Moore is the future second baseman of the Halos and it was finally the right call not to rush him up to the majors. We've seen that backfire for so many young Angels.

Zach Neto Showing His Power

At age 23, Zach Neto has already hit the most homeruns of any shortstop in Angels’ history for a single season. He has also become one of the most clutch hitters in the lineup.

A Neto-Moore middle infield looks pretty good to me for the foreseeable future. He has also been the healthiest Angel, playing in 150+ games, which is very rare nowadays for any player.

He also seems to love the big moment. If he can get more consistent contact, he could be a Javier-Baez-in-his-prime type of player.

Ron Washington

I know many fans will say, how can you put Ron Washington as a positive for the 2024 season? We literally had our worst season in franchise history. Well, you can’t blame that on Washington.

He arguably had worse players on the field than the Chicago White Sox this season and you know how historically bad they were record-wise. Mike Trout, Patrick Sandoval, Luis Rengifo, Jose Soriano, Robert Stephenson, Anthony Rendon, Jo Adell, Ben Joyce, and Matt Moore are just some names that Angels fans saw on prolonged stints of the injured list or they haven’t seen all season.

Ron Washington has held this team together from not getting 110 losses this season. I’m a big Washington fan. I won’t deny it, but you just have to look at the numbers and it will show you his impact.
