Miles Bridges

Fortunately, the Lakers likely don't have enough cap space to sign Miles Bridges this offseason, but they could still engineer a sign-and-trade to bring the 26-year-old combo forward to Los Angeles.

However, they should absolutely shy away from doing that. Bridges' NBA career has been marred by controversies and legal trouble. Two years ago, he was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence. After pleading no contest, he was sentenced to three years of probation. A year later, he was charged with violating his probation and protection order. He had to sit out the entire 2022-23 season before being reinstated and returning to action for the 2023-24 season.

This is just not a situation the Lakers need to get themselves involved in. Regardless of who Bridges is as a basketball player, it's just not worth it for Los Angeles.

There will be an NBA team willing to give him a lucrative, long-term offer. Considering the amount of talent he has, this will likely be a team-friendly deal as well. He is a good basketball player but there is absolutely no reason the Lakers have to go out of their way to bring Bridges into the organization. Let him be another team's problem.
