Kyle Kuzma

In a similar vein, the Lakers can target another two-way forward. A familiar face who has won a championship playing next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma would be an intriguing option for the Lakers.

At age 28, Kuzma is a more complete player now. He just had the best season of his career with the Washington Wizards. Considering that the Wizards are still in the early stages of a rebuild, they will ideally want to move Kuzma while his trade value is at its peak. They should be willing to part ways with him in exchange for a first-round pick.

Kuzma's advantage over Grant is the fact that he is younger and on a more team-friendly deal. He is not as good as Grant but he should be able to contribute for longer without hamstringing the team's future flexibility.

A frontcourt of Kuzma-James-Davis offers a ton of versatility, scoring, and size. However, it doesn't solve the issues that have been ailing the Lakers over the past couple of years. The Lakers need more shooting, athleticism, and defense. Even though Kuzma can do a little bit of everything, he is not elite in any of those traits. A better off-ball player than Kuzma should be preferable for the Lakers.
