5 Most Important Chargers Free Agent Targets in 2024
By Cem Yolbulan
Jon Runyan Jr, OL
Another free agent with some familiarity with the new coaching staff in Los Angeles is Jon Runyan Jr. Playing in Michigan between 2015 and 2019, Runyan is familiar with Harbaugh's offense.
Runyan has been starting at right guard for the Green Bay Packers since 2021. He has proven himself to be a capable starter but lost a lot of his snaps mid-season in 2023. This could suggest that he might be out in Titletown.
Guard isn't necessarily a desperate need for the Chargers. They have young players they want to develop in the offensive line. But offensive line depth is not always easy to find. Bringing an experienced, capable player there is always a good idea when you are trying to take a step forward.
Plus, he has a deeper Bolts connection as well. His dad Jon Runyan played for the Chargers back in 2009 before retiring to pursue a career in politics.
