4. What a Win Against LSU Would Do for Their Chances?

Everything. If you defeat a team like LSU, one of the pillars of SEC strength in football, that really gives you confidence riding into conference play. If you then knock off Michigan, you are looking at a possible 5-0 start going into the Penn State game.

USC has a history of big wins over Penn State. The rest of the schedule would be doable barring injuries. It all starts with LSU. No expert thinks USC even believes they should be in the Top 25 in the preseason poll. For the first time in a long time, USC is an underdog and can fly under the radar.

With eyes wide open, I believe USC can easily and should be in the top 5 in the Big Ten. Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Oregon, not in that order, are the only ones that are more talented than USC. They play only two of them. If you can knock off Penn State at home or Michigan on the road or both, USC is back in the spotlight. The sky is the limit if USC pulls out a win in The Big House.
