The NFL offseason is filled with a collection of moves that involve players and coaches. Brandon Staley was one of the coaches looking for a new job. He was fired by the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 15 after three seasons with the team.

Staley had an underwhelming tenure in Los Angeles, logging a 24-24 record in the regular season with a 0-1 record in the postseason. The Chargers rolled into 2023 with lofty expectations but never were able to gain traction.

In Week 15, the Raiders completely dominated the Chargers en route to a 63-21 win. Staley was then let go. The Bolts struggled immensely on the defensive side, ranking 28th in total defense (362.9), which was supposed to be Staley's strong suit.

The 41-year-old wanted to find his way back into the league for the 2024 campaign. Over the past few weeks, he interviewed with the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers for various roles.

He ended up locking down a job as the new league year inches closer. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 49ers are hiring Staley for a distinguished role on the staff.

Brandon Staley Lands The San Francisco 49ers Job

Shortly after the Super Bowl LVIII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers decided to let go of defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

As they reshaped their defensive staff, Staley found a way to secure a position. He interviewed for the vacant defensive coordinator role but will likely have another role on the defensive side of the ball.

Staley landed with one of the best organizations in the league and has a chance to revive his career.

The San Francisco 49ers are the favorites (+500) to win the Super Bowl LIX, while the Chargers are considered a long shot (+3000). Head over to FanDuel Sportsbook and take advantage of these odds after you claim your sign-up bonus.
