Bronny James decided to enter the NBA Draft after just one year at USC. The 2024 NBA Draft is set to take place from June 26-27 as 58 players will hear their names called.
The NBA Draft Combine happened from May 12 to May 19 down in Chicago and James got to display his talent in front of teams and scouts.
He measured in at 6-foot-1 1/2 without shoes and had a 6'7 1/4 wingspan. He recorded a 40.5-inch vertical jump and shot 19-of-25 in the 3-point shooting drill.
Bronny impressed teams around the league and has secured some pre-draft workouts. A team with championship aspirations has scheduled a workout with James.
The Phoenix Suns will conduct a workout with Bronny James ahead of the June NBA Draft, sources say. Phoenix has the 22nd pick and he is among several players in consideration. Bronny James Has Workout With the Phoenix Suns
Shams Charania of the Athletic and Stadium reported that Bronny James is going to have a workout with the Phoenix Suns, who own the No. 22 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He's also expected to meet with the Lakers.
The Suns' roster already consists of a Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. The problem with their roster is depth and capable role players.
Doug Haller of the Athletic wrote that James could develop into a nice role player down the line but he isn't what the Suns need right now.
As you might have expected there might be a LeBron angle here. Haller said, "Of course, there’s the LeBron factor. Is it possible drafting James could help the Suns lure LeBron to the desert on a minimum contract? Probably not. But if you’re Jones and owner Mat Ishbia, it doesn’t hurt to explore."
Of course, Bronny is going to get more attention being LeBron's son but he wants to carve out his own role in the NBA.
He has about a month left to continue impressing teams around the league and raise his draft stock as high as possible.
