Bronny James Lands on Lakers Rivals in Latest ESPN Mock Draft
The 2024 NBA Draft is slated to take place on June 26 at Barclays Center. 58 players will hear their names called and have a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream of making it to the NBA.
One of the biggest names in the draft class is Bronny James, the son of LeBron. The 39-year-old said on multiple occasions that he would love to play with his son and that dream is inching closer day by day.
The Lakers own the No. 17 and No. 55 overall picks heading into the NBA Draft. As for Bronny, he has had over 10 teams reach for workouts but he decided he'll only work out with the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
Despite Bronny making it known he'll only work out for those two teams, he was selected by a big-time Lakers rival in the latest ESPN mock draft.
Lakers News: ESPN has the Golden State Warriors Taking Bronny
ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo came together to release an NBA mock draft. These two had the Golden State Warriors taking Bronny at No. 52 overall in the second round.
The Warriors and the Lakers are both a part of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference. Golden State is seen taking James to add to their backcourt.
James may not be a lead guard but he has the defensive tenacity to make an impact while owning a nice shooting stroke. At the NBA Combine, he had a 40.5-inch vertical jump and shot 19-of-25 in the 3-point shooting drill.
In this scenario, Bronny would get the opportunity to learn from Stephen Curry while playing against the Lakers four times during the regular season.
No one knows where Bronny will truly end up but there's a chance he ends up with a bitter rival of the Lakers.
