Free agency is only a few weeks away as teams are looking to add quality difference-makers ahead of the 2024 season. Los Angeles will be having Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz call the shots as they now take charge of the organization.

They need to go through some hoops to clear up cap space but that can easily be handled with some trades, cuts, and contract restructures. CBS Sports Cody Benjamin released a 2024 NFL Free Agency Mock Draft. Los Angeles fans would be thrilled if they snagged the free agent that Benjamin projects.

Chargers Mocked to Sign Saquon Barkley

Harbaugh brought in Greg Roman to be his offensive coordinator. Roman was the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator from 2019-2022, where they ranked top three in rushing offense in all four seasons.

That's something that Harbaugh and Roman want to bring to Los Angeles. Getting a powerful run game going takes the pressure off of Justin Herbert.

Austin Ekeler is scheduled to be a free agent and the Chargers may be looking for an upgrade.

Saquon Barkley is also going to hit the open market and could provide a massive boost to the backfield. Barkley has game-breaking speed in the open field while owning secure hands as a pass-catcher.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection has piled up 5,211 rushing yards, 2,100 receiving yards, and 47 total touchdowns in his career. Barkley would immediately raise the floor of the offense. Having a dynamic ball carrier makes the defense think twice.

A combination of Herbert, Barkley, and Keenan Allen would keep opposing defensive coordinators up at night game planning against this offense.
