The Michigan Wolverines running back Blake Corum is one of the best running back prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. The total package as a rusher, Corum has the vision, strength, and creativity to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Fortunately for the Los Angeles Chargers, there is a very good chance he will do so for the Bolts.

The Chargers have all of their draft picks heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. Selecting Corum with any of their picks starting with the second round is probable, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

Michigan RB Blake Corum Likely to Be A Charger Next Season

Corum was one of the most productive offensive players for the Wolverines last season. Under Jim Harbaugh, Corum scored a program-record 27 touchdowns to go along with 1,245 rushing yards, on their way to winning the National Championship. His former head coach would presumably love to have a trusted hand as his primary running option.

This makes sense within the context of the Chargers' offseason as well. Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley are both likely gone this offseason. Los Angeles hired Greg Roman, a run-first coach, as their offensive coordinator. Harbaugh is already filling his staff with familiar faces from Michigan.

Corum is one of the most NFL-ready prospects in the draft. He is an immediate plug-and-play option thanks to his experience and versatility. This is also one of the downsides of drafting him.

The major concern for Corum is his age. He is turning 24 this year and considering the career trajectories of running backs, it's unlikely for him to stay productive past his rookie contract.

Yet, this could be an advantage for the Chargers if teams shy away from drafting Corum. Draft him, make him your RB1 workhorse, and get as much production as you can out of him for a couple of years. It looks like sportsbooks think that will be the case.
