Ever since Justin Herbert was seen limping after the Panthers game last Sunday, Chargers fans have been anxiously waiting for injury updates about their star quarterback. He returned to practice earlier this week but had limited mobility with a heavy ankle tape. His status was listed as questionable leading up to the weekend.

Now, the latest injury update should give Bolts fans some optimism for Sunday. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the 26-year-old is more likely to suit up against the Steelers than not.

NFL News: Justin Herbert Looking Likely to Play on Sunday

Coming off a high ankle sprain, Herbert will reportedly test the ankle before the game and make the final decision.

This is obviously great news for the Chargers who have the chance to go up 3-0 against a beatable opponent in Pittsburgh. That would be a big boost before the massive AFC West clash against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

There is a chance Herbert will be limited if he suits up. He may not have his usual mobility but he should be a much better option than his backup Easton Stick regardless.

The Chargers made the risky decision to not upgrade their QB2 in the offseason. Stick has failed to impress in his brief appearances so far in his career but he will have to be relied upon if Herbert can't go against the Steelers.

Due to the uncertainty of the QB situation, the Chargers are 2.5-point underdogs with +122 odds of winning heading into the game on FanDuel Sportsbook.
