The Los Angeles Chargers' free agency period has so far been more about fixing the mess that Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz inherited than it has been about making new additions.

But with a few key moves fixing most of the cap space issues for now, the team finally made a splash with a really strong free agent signing on Monday.

Chargers News; Bradley Bozeman Signed in Free Agency

The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has reported that Bradley Bozeman is signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. Bozeman spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers after playing the first four years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Bozeman is a rock-solid veteran who has started every game in four of the last five seasons, with experience starting at both center and left guard.

His pass blocking can leave something to be desired at times, but Pro Football Focus has graded him out as a plus run blocker in each of the last three seasons.

This is a huge addition for a Chargers offensive line that desperately needs help on the interior.

Corey Linsley is all but guaranteed to retire, which made center an obvious need. The lack of talent at guard also makes it that much more important to have a capable center holding things down on the interior.

Harbaugh is clearly bringing a new identity to this Chargers offense, and the Bozeman signing is another big step in the right direction. L.A. already has the eighth-best odds to win the AFC next season despite missing the playoffs in four of the last five seasons.
