Controversial All-Star Wants to Join Forces With LeBron James
No matter what time of year it is, LeBron James is brought up. The 39-year-old is currently with Team USA as they prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
They are looking to bring back the gold but around the NBA, teams are preparing for the 2024-25 season.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the only team in the league that hasn't made any outside additions and has the same roster from last year outside of Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.
That won't be good enough and GM Rob Pelinka needs to find a way to improve this roster. While Pelinka gauges the market, one controversial player expresses he would love to play with James.
NBA News: Draymond Green Says He Would Love To Play with Lebron James
Golden State forward Draymond Green was a guest at the ESPY Awards on July 11 and was asked if there was a player that he would want to play with that he hasn't so far.
He didn't hesitate and said, "LeBron, For sure."
That shouldn't be a surprise even though the two men were rivals, squaring off in four straight NBA Finals from 2015 to 2019.
James went 1-3 in those matchups but led the Cavaliers back from being down 3-1. In the 2016 NBA Finals, Green was suspended for a crucial Game 5 for collecting too many flagrant fouls. That was the turning point of the series and Cleveland came back to win the championship, being the only team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit.
Since then, Green and James have grown a closer bond. Back in 2019, the 34-year-old switched over to Klutch Sports as his representation. They helped him land a four-year, $100 million extension with Golden State in 2023.
Green saying he would love to play with James is a common theme. The four-time NBA MVP is one of the greatest players to pick up a basketball. Anyone who appreciates the game in the NBA would love to suit with the King. Green now joins a long list of players who have this wish.
