Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell has been active on social media lately, which has caught fans' attention, which isn’t a good thing as the fanbase wants him traded.

Throughout the summer, Russell has posted cryptic messages on social media, leading fans to think that something could be happening. However, it never ends up being the case.

Nonetheless, the Lakers point guard took it to another level Monday as he made a blasphemous statement on Twitter that sent NBA Twitter into a frenzy and forced him to delete his tweet.

In a tweet now deleted on Twitter/X, a Twitter user said, “You guys realize Dlo gets hot like Curry did yesterday? Or should we just ignore the facts?"

Russell dropped a quote tweet and said, “I humbly agree.” Even though he said it humbly, fans on social media were shocked and laughing that Russell put himself in the same statement as Stephen Curry, who is viewed as the best three-point shooter in NBA history.

First off, Russell is a career 36.9 percent three-point shooter, which isn’t bad in today’s game. But Curry is lightyears ahead of Russell, shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc, and has numerous accolades on his resume, which includes four NBA titles.

And not to mention, Curry had two phenomenal games in the knockout round of the Summer Olympics, including a historic stretch in the fourth quarter against France that was out of the ordinary.

Russell will have games where he goes off for 25-30 points and knocks down 5-6 threes, but he doesn’t garner the same attention from the opposition that Curry does every time he touches the ball and is on the floor.

Lakers fans hope Russell will chill out before the preseason begins as he’s one of the few players who will be under the microscope this season.
