What looked like a done deal with JJ Redick being the presumptive head coach took an unexpected turn on Thursday morning when Dan Hurley of UConn emerged as the favorite to get the job.

Therefore, there is a good chance he will not even be a Laker next season. Even if he were to opt into his player option, he is a likely trade candidate.
