Opening Day is almost here for the 2024 MLB season, and even after getting an early start on things, Dodgers fans are anxiously awaiting the true start of the season.

This is a team that has underwhelmed despite having one of the MLB's best rosters over the last couple of years, but things are feeling different in 2024. They're bigger favorites than ever, and anything short of another National League pennant would be a disappointment.

The betting markets paint the Dodgers as the best team in baseball, so let's take a closer look at their odds in some of the major markets.

World Series Odds

The Dodgers enter the season as +320 favorites to win the World Series, and there aren't even many teams close to them. The Atlanta Braves rank second at +450, and nobody else is available at better than +700 (the Houston Astros).

Converting those odds to implied probability has the Dodgers at 23.8% to win it all, while the second-placed Braves are a distant 18.2%. The Astros are just 12.5%.

National League Pennant Odds

Fittingly, the Dodgers also hold a big edge over the Braves in the odds to win the National League. The Dodgers (+165) are implied at 37.7% while the Braves (+250) are at 28.6%.

The only other team, even remotely in the conversation is the Philadelphia Phillies, whose +800 odds have them at 11.1%. The next-best odds are almost insignificant, with the St. Louis Cardinals (+1600) implied at 5.9%.

NL West Odds

The divisional odds are where things start to get ridiculous for the Dodgers. With no real competition to win the NL West, the Dodgers are massive -600 favorites. The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres are tied for second (+1100).

This implies the Dodgers at 85.7% to win the NL West in 2024.

Win Total Odds

Shifting gears to look at the win total market, the Dodgers' over/under is set at 103.5 wins — the highest mark in the MLB. They're very slight favorites (-115) to go under 103.5, with -105 odds on hitting the over.

Dodgers Player Props

National League MVP

The best team in the National League doesn't quite have the player with the best odds to win NL MVP. That honor belongs to Ronald Acuna Jr. (+500), but after that, it's all Dodgers.

Mookie Betts (second at +650), Freddie Freeman (third at +900), and Shohei Ohtani (fourth at +950) are the only other players with better than +1000 odds. That means that Acuna is the favorite and implied at 16.7%. It's more likely that one of the Dodgers (Betts at 13.3%, Freeman at 10.0%, or Ohtani at 9.5%) win it.

National League Cy Young

Finally, a bet the Dodgers are dominant favorites to win. The best Dodgers pitcher in the National League Cy Young odds is Tyler Glasnow, who ranks just sixth at +1400. I suppose you can't win 'em all.

Mookie Betts Home Runs

You can even wager specifically on Mookie Betts' home run total on BetMGM. They have Betts at 32.5 homers, with -110 odds each on the over and under. This is a mark that Betts cleared in both 2022 (35) and 2023 (39).
