The Los Angeles Chargers have entered a new era this offseason. Led by new general manager Joe Hortiz and new head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers have started a new chapter to go back to their winning ways. This new chapter included a complete overhaul of the coaching staff.

Greg Roman came over from Baltimore to be the new offensive coordinator. Jesse Minter followed Harbaugh from Michigan to become the new defensive coordinator.

The Chargers are continuing to build a formidable coaching staff on the sidelines. And the latest name to join Harbaugh will make Bolts fans happy.

Former Chargers legend Nick Hardwick will be the new assistant offensive line coach for the Chargers next season.

Chargers News: Nick Hardwick Joining Jim Harbaugh's Coaching Staff

This is huge news for Chargers fans. Hardwick, who played for 11 seasons in San Diego, was a huge part of the Chargers' success, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2006. A consistent postseason team during Hardwick's time, the Chargers started struggling immensely once the star offensive lineman retired in 2014.

The Chargers weren't able to replace him adequately since Hardwick retired. He put a distance between himself and the organization when he was openly critical of the move to Los Angeles.

Bringing a fan favorite back to the coaching staff will help rebuild the bridge with the Chargers fans in San Diego.

Harbaugh clearly wants to put his mark on the organization, but at the end of the day, he is a traditionalist. He likes to bring in as many familiar faces and beloved figures from the organization under one roof. He has certainly done that with Hardwick and hopefully, it brings much-needed success for the Chargers.
