It's always tough to see players who helped contribute to a championship finally retire from the game. That's what happened with a member of the Lakers 2020 championship team.

Guard Rajon Rondo officially announced his retirement from the NBA.

Lakers News: Rajon Rondo Has Retired From the NBA

Rondo had two different stints with the Lakers, from 2018-2020 and for a portion of the 2021-22 campaign.

At that stage of his career, Rondo provided Los Angeles with a veteran playmaker who played with an edge. The Kentucky product was a valuable contributor to the Lakers' title run in the Bubble during the 2020 season.

In 16 playoff games, Rondo averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

In the Game 6 win over the Miami Heat in 2020, Rondo finished with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists to help Los Angeles bring home their 18th championship title.

As he calls it a career, Rondo averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in 16 seasons. Additionally, Rondo compiled 32 triple-doubles in his career.

Even though Rondo wasn't a long-term player in Los Angeles, he still made an impact during his short tenure in the Purple and Gold.

With the 2024 NBA Playoffs quick approaching, the Lakers are looking to hit another gear but aren't getting much love from oddsmakers.
