Despite being challenged on the way there, Team USA eventually pulled through and won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics. Led by LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant, Team USA was able to win their fifth straight Olympics. How one member of the team carried himself afterward, however, received some criticism.

Kevin Durant, after winning the gold medal game against France, shared a photo of the team with the caption "high IQ and entertainment". This was a shot at former Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder, who had previously said that European basketball is "no entertainment, it's high IQ basketball". The starting point guard of the German national team, Schroder had won the World Basketball Championship last year and made it to the Semi-Finals of the Olympics before losing to France.

Now, he is taking the beef with Durant to the next level. Addressing Durant's response to him, Schroder called the former MVP "a weak person".

Saying that he didn't mean his initial comment as negativity or criticism, Schroder seems genuinely confused as to why Durant felt the need to attack him after winning.

"I respect all of those guys, all GOATs, but to say that tells me how weak he is as a person. It is what it is. Not everybody is strong, not everybody is in a good place."

The 30-year-old point guard had two separate stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, in 2020-21 and 2022-23, playing big roles on both playoff teams. He signed with the Toronto Raptors in the 2023 offseason but finished last year with the Brooklyn Nets. He remains one of the better guard defenders in the league while possessing a highly effective drive game on the offensive end.
