The Los Angeles Lakers have been awfully quiet this offseason in terms of adding playmakers. They only re-signed LeBron James before drafting Bronny James and Dalton Knecht in June's NBA Draft.

But off the court, a former Laker had a run-in with law enforcement. Guard Rajon Rondo was arrested in January after the police received a call that a 2022 black Tesla was driving recklessly on I-65 South between Indianapolis and Louisville.

The police officer searched the car, finding a fireman, drug paraphernalia, and suspected marijuana. Despite pleading guilty to some charges, Rondo avoided jail with his plea deal.

Lakers News: Rajon Rondo Pleads Guilty and Gets Probation

On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun possession charge in Jackson County, Indiana. Court records revealed that Rondo pleaded guilty to unlawful carrying of a handgun.

The charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession were dismissed. The Kentucky product was also placed on probation for 180 days and had to pay all the costs related to the case.

Rondo officially retired from the NBA in April after he played in the NBA for 16 seasons. He played for nine teams in his career, including time with the Lakers for three seasons.

He played a major role in the Lakers 2020 championship. The 38-year-old finished his career as a two-time NBA Champion and four-time NBA All-Star.

Rondo averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. In addition, he led the NBA in assists for three different campaigns.
