Jim Harbaugh Keeps His Word With Latest Tattoo
Jim Harbaugh was hired by the Los Angeles Chargers in January to be the new lead man for the organization. He is known for being a culture changer and is now tasked with doing that in Los Angeles.
But before coming to the Chargers, Harbaugh was the head coach at the University of Michigan from 2015 to 2023. The 60-year-old went back to coach his alma mater and brought the dominance to Ann Arbor.
Last season, they went 15-0 and secured the National Championship title in a 34-13 win over the University of Washington.
Fast forward three months later and Harbaugh is keeping the promise he made to his players.
Chargers News: Jim Harbaugh Keeps His Promise to Michigan Players
During Michigan's college football playoff run, Harbaugh told his players that he would get his first tattoo if they won the national title.
He said, "I'm going to put it on my shoulder. I don't know if it's my left or right yet. I'm a right-handed quarterback, I'll probably get it on my right. And then an M too, an M that's maize and blue."
That is exactly what Harbaugh did and Mike Sainristil documented it when he recorded his former coach and posted it online.
Harbaugh's tattoo is the "M" representing Michigan with 15-0 right under it. The work was done by Michigan-based tattoo artist Stephen Bateman, as Harbaugh was back in Ann Arbor as they received their championship rings.
Some people will find it dumb but it is cool to see a coach keep his word to his former players, even if it means getting a tattoo. Especially after a perfect season that ended in a National Championship.
