The Los Angeles Lakers are still on the lookout for a head coach after they were turned down by Dan Hurley this past week.

JJ Redick's name has been linked to the Lakers for weeks now and it looks like Los Angeles is back on that train, as he's going to officially interview for the position this weekend.

Even though it seems like Redick is the top choice for the Lakers, his inner circle has some serious questions regarding Los Angeles.

Lakers News: JJ Redick Has People Asking Him If LA is the Right Job

Brian Windhorst of ESPN spoke on Friday regarding Redick and the Lakers. Windhorst believes Redick is more than prepared for his interview but the former Duke product's inner circle is asking him if Los Angeles is the right job for him.

"I think the question that's being asked here is how much should J.J. really want this job? And that's one of the reasons why I think there's people in his life, in fact, I know there's people in his life, who have said 'Are you sure this is the opportunity you want? That this is what you want to leave for? Because this is such a challenging job.'"

The Lakers do have some questions that they need to answer and that starts this offseason.

They need to find a way to re-sign LeBron James and build a championship roster around both James and Anthony Davis.

They also need to build out a plan for the post-LeBron tenure. The Lakers have struggled to build a contender since winning the title in 2020. But with LeBron turning 40 years old, they need to start thinking of the future.

At the same time, the Lakers have also fired head coaches Frank Vogel and Darvin Ham over the past three years. It's not crazy that Redick's inner circle has some reservations about the gig.
