The Los Angeles Chargers have new voices at the top of the organization with Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz now leading the charge.

They have a bunch of decisions to make regarding the team and some players decided they will be finding new homes. Tight end Gerald Everett is one of them. Everett and the Chicago Bears agreed on a two-year, $12 million deal, including $6.1 million fully guaranteed.

Chargers News: Gerald Everett Will Not Be Member of the Chargers in 2024

Everett had been with the Chargers since 2022, recording 109 receptions with 966 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns.

He gave the team an athletic pass-catcher who has a knack for doing damage after the catch.

It looks like Los Angeles wants to become more physical upfront and that isn't Everett's forte. The South Alabama product is more a receiver than he is a blocker. On Mar. 11, the Chargers signed tight end Will Dissly to a three-year, $14 million deal and he brings a more dominating presence as a run-blocker.

Everett was easily their best athlete in the tight end room and will need to find a way to replace his production.

Heading into a critical offseason, the Chargers need to ace their moves to improve their chances of winning the division to catch the Kansas City Chiefs but according to FanDuel Sportsbook, Los Angeles is +370 underdogs to win the AFC West.
