Lakers Draft Plan For Bronny James Revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers enter the offseason with a bunch of questions that need to be answered. The biggest hurdle certainly is finding a new head coach after they parted ways with Darvin Ham.

It sounded like JJ Redick was a lock to become the next head coach but the latest news emerged that the Lakers are pursuing Dan Hurley.

Management also needs to find a way to re-sign superstar LeBron James and improve the rest of the roster surrounding him and Anthony Davis. They have also been rumored to have interest in Bronny James but their draft plans for him have been revealed.

On June 7, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski spoke on his podcast "The Woj Pod" and discussed how teams around the league view Bronny's draft range.

He revealed that the Lakers wouldn't take Bronny with the No. 17 overall pick but would rather take him in the second round.

"The Lakers, to my understanding, they're not considering Bronny James at No. 17. There's no reason to take him at 17. If you wanted to take him earlier than 55, you could move up some places but you are just giving away value."

Although Bronny impressed teams during the NBA Scouting Combine, he isn't regarded as a bonafide first-round selection.

In his lone season at USC, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games for the Trojans.

The 19-year-old only worked out for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers after he turned down workout invites from more than 10 different teams.

It sounds like if Bronny is available at No. 55, he'll be the selection for Los Angeles but the Lakers won't use a first-round selection to bring him to town.
