The NBA Finals are still ongoing but the NBA world has largely turned their attention to the NBA Draft. Scheduled to take place on June 26-27, the 2024 NBA Draft has largely been dominated by discussions about Bronny James. Where the USC guard will end up and what that means for LeBron James' future in the NBA will continue to be the most important storylines leading up to the draft.

There is a widespread expectation that Bronny will end up with the Lakers. Los Angeles, who has the 55th-overall pick in the draft, will likely consider taking him if he is available. It turns out that they are impressed with his on-court skills in addition to him helping keep his father with the Lakers for the foreseeable future.

Bronny, who had a pre-draft workout with the Lakers, had a good performance, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times. His athleticism, shooting, and defensive upside were particularly intriguing to the Lakers.

"His athleticism, defensive potential and shooting at the Chicago draft combine have interested the Lakers, who could help make history by pairing him with his father, should LeBron James remain on the team."

A late second-round pick is usually a flyer on a prospect who doesn't have much of a chance of making it in the NBA. They rarely make the team in their rookie seasons. Bronny, however, will likely be a different type of prospect.

Whether he spends time in the G League as a rookie or makes the final roster, Bronny will have all eyes on him. That is a lot of pressure for a 19-year-old rookie.

However, he has handled that pressure exceedingly well so far. If his workouts have been as impressive as the way he has been carrying himself off the court, the Lakers will be thrilled to snag him in the draft.
