Lakers Get Positive LeBron James Injury Update After Bucks Win
By Cem Yolbulan
The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the final stretch of the regular season that will make or break their 2023-24 campaign. Still standing in ninth place in the Western Conference with ten games left, the Lakers can't afford a losing stretch if they want to make the playoffs.
The key component of this is obviously LeBron James. Lakers fans received a scare on Tuesday when it was announced that the King was going to miss the game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Los Angeles pulled off the improbable double-overtime victory to extend their winning streak to four games and improving to 40-32.
Perhaps better news than the win was what TNT's Chris Haynes reported during the game: LeBron James was resting his ankle/foot against Milwaukee and was fully expected to be back for Wednesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Lakers News: LeBron James Expected to Play Next Game
This is excellent news as James' injury doesn't seem that worrisome. He has been dealing with the ankle soreness for a while now and at this stage of the season and his career, he will likely always be nursing a discomfort here and there. However, it sounds like James should be good to go for the final stretch of the regular season and the postseason for the Lakers.
Another positive sign for the Lakers is the fact that they have one of the easiest schedules in the NBA the rest of the way, according to Tankathon.com. This could help Los Angeles improve their seed ahead of the postseason and make a deep run again. Currently, they are considered a very long shot to win the Western Conference at +2800.
