It's been an offseason of chatter and a lack of moves for the Los Angeles Lakers. After they were sent home in the first round of the postseason, the Lakers said they would be aggressive to improve the team but that wasn't exactly the truth.

The only moves Los Angeles made were re-signing LeBron James and drafting both Dalton Knecht and Bronny James in June's NBA Draft.

Although James and the Lakers are focused on the upcoming regular season, it hasn't hindered the 39-year-old from thinking about his future.

Lakers News: LeBron James Looking to Become an Owner

The NBA has been looking at expanding teams for some time now but is taking steps to make it happen. They have been looking at both Las Vegas and Seattle as two potential cities and LeBron wants to be a part of it.

In an article written by ESPN, they said, "LeBron James has openly campaigned for Silver to award him a team. All waiting for a "go" from the league."

That wasn't the only said about James, adding that he is eyeing Las Vegas.

"There is one very obvious name here: LeBron James. For the better part of a decade, James has been transparent about his desire to join Michael Jordan as all-time great turned team governor and become a true shareholder in the NBA. James' off-court investment decisions, including taking an equity position with Boston Celtics, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Liverpool FC ownership group Fenway Sports, have been made with this in mind. James has continued to develop relationships with deep-pocketed sports investors such as John Henry and Gerry Cardinale, who could be partners in making a bid for an expansion team. Last year, he traveled to Saudi Arabia and met with Badr bin Abdullah Al Saud, a member of the royal family and the kingdom's minister of culture. "

James has always wanted to own an NBA team and now it looks like he may have the opportunity to do so once he gets clearance from the NBA.

LeBron's time in the NBA is coming to an end soon. He still focused on winning another NBA title but that isn't stopping him from looking down the line and fulfilling a lifelong goal.
