LeBron James Makes Decision on Playing With Bronny
The Los Angeles Lakers' offseason began after they were sent packing in the first round. There have been a lot of changes surrounding the Lakers lately, starting with the entire coaching staff being let go.
There is also uncertainty about where LeBron James will be playing basketball next season, as he's expected to opt out and become a free agent.
In addition, Bronny James has entered the 2024 NBA Draft after spending one year at USC. LeBron has made it known on multiple occasions that he would love to play with his son but his latest answer has shifted.
Lakers News: LeBron James Wouldn't Reportedly Join a Team Just Because of Bronny
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium was a guest on the 'Up & Adams' show and gave some insight on LeBron's future.
He stated he wouldn't be shocked if teams around the league reached out to James' camp to measure his interest in joining their team if they selected Bronny. If that were to happen, LeBron's answer would be no as of right now.
It's not a surprise that teams would reach out to LeBron if they selected his son, but his answer could be a good sign for Laker Nation.
The 39-year-old has been in LA for the past six years and the latest report could be seen as him hinting at returning in 2024.
Over the past couple of days at the NBA Scouting Combine, Bronny has done a good job of raising draft stock.
In an interview with reporters at the combine, Bronny expressed that it wasn't his top priority to play with his father in the NBA.
He said, "My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself and get to the NBA. Everything that follows my dad, people just try to link me with that and all the greatness that he's achieved. I haven't done anything yet, so I feel like there needs to be that divide between Bronny and LeBron."
The Lakers own the No. 17 and No. 55 overall picks in the 2024 NBA Draft so they could have the opportunity to draft Bronny if they desire.
But as of right now, LeBron wouldn't automatically jump to another location just because Bronny is on the team.
